ATPD / Safety Town Program

What is Safety Town?
Safety Town is a two-hour a day, two-week program for
children that teaches safety lessons on strangers,
traffic, pedestrians, bicycles, fire safety, bus safety, water
safety and computer safety. This community service
program is supported by the Andover
Township Police Department. Safety Town is sponsored by
the National Safety Town Council, Cleveland, Ohio, and
is endorsed by the National Safety Council. Safety Town
was started in Mansfield, Ohio in 1937 and has been
presented throughout the country since that time.

Who
Can Participate?
Children must be 5 or 6 years old between the program
dates to be eligible to participate in Safety Town.
Where is Safety Town?
The Andover Regional Safety Town Program will be held
July 6th through July 17th at the Long Pond School. Two
sessions will be offered from 8:30 - 10:30 and 11:00 -
1:00.
How Do
I Register a Child?
If you need any further information, please call Mr.
Muccilli, Principal of Florence M. Burd School at (973)
940-1234. A registration fee of $55 covers the entire
two weeks, which includes all materials, trips and daily
refreshments. Space is limited, so return the
registration form and fee early.
